Sunshine Women‘s Institute Tweedsmuir Histon/ Book 5 Julyâ€"5 Fournier book launching by Louise Sproule FOURNIER â€" If you have roots in Fournier, be sure to get a copy of the soon-to-be-released history of Fournier, published by St. Bernard‘s Parish. The 998-page book will be ofï¬cially launched at a ceremony at the South Plan- tagenet Municipal Hall on July 5, from 2 to 4 p.m. Everyone is invited to meet with the members of the souvenir book committee, to pick up books already ordered, or to purchase copies. More than 800 of the 1,600 softâ€"cover copies of the book have been sold already, and orders are coming in fast, said Neil Parker, editor of the book. There are 200 hard-cover copies available. but orders are coming in quickly for those too, he said. Soft-cover copies are available for $35, while hard-cover editions sell for $45. It took the committee over a year to compile infor- mation [or the book, which includes the histories and photos of about 600 Four- nierâ€"Riceville area families. Also included in the book are chapters on education, religion, the village of Four- nier, ancestral farms and the military. The bilingual book contains more than 1,000 photos.
