1/ flow/zalw†/ ‘7 27/ (3’ , Oddfellows And Rebekah: Donate $8,000 To Victoria Hospital The Oddtellow and Rebekah / Heart Equipment Fund recently made a presentation of $8,000 to the Victoria Hospital for a Heart Monitor/Defibrillator in memory of Brother Oliver Houghton, Past. Chairman of the organization. The number of family and frateral members who attended the presen- tation ceremony were a sincere tribute to the memory of Brother Houghton who served the commitâ€" tee for 12 years, the lasts years as chairman. The committee is comprised of 23 lodges in two districts of the In- dependent Order ot Oddfellows and two districts of the Rebekahs in St. Thomas and Elgin County The organization was formed in 1976 a . for the purpose of raising money to donate heart equipment to com- munity hospitals where treatment and care is provided to heart pa- tients. Money is raised through lodge and individual donations, draws‘ flea markets, dances and bi-annual bikeathonsi To date this Committee has donated over $65000 to various hospitals . A donation of 38‘000 was recently made to Victoria Hospital, London by the Oddtellow and Rebekah Heart Fund Committee tor a Heart Monitor/Defibrillator.
