Re- ferring to her term in office she writes: "With the splendid coâ€"operetion of our forty members I enjoyed my term as President. During these years we entertained our neighbouring w. I. Branches v Paisley. Bradley, Mount Hope and Elora Road North. In June 1962. we celebrated our fif- teenth anniversary and each FreSident and Secretary-Treasurer was presented with a Corsage. A float was entered at the Port Elgin Agricultural Fair, receiving first prize. and each year a display was entered in the Palace exhibits. Our members have given help to our Southampton Hospital and the Bruce County Museum. A donation was given to aid the Re- tarded Children's Organization. Plans were made to secure trees to plant in preparation for Centennial Year. Our local ministers â€" Mr. Illman. Mr. R. Chapman and Mr. M. McNabb aided us by bringing messages during this time. A Family Night was held in #5 SChOOl-v and a programme of community talent was greatly enjoyed.†Below are shown the float entered in the Fall Fair Parade, with Mrs. Arlie Virtue driving the tractor, and Mrs. Mel Black cutting the 15th anniversary cake, in #5 school. g,/7 The office of President was capably held from April 1961+ to April 1966 by Mrs. George Pollockl She also refers to the coâ€"operation received from the members which helped make our meetings pleasant and educational. During this time we enjoyed a bus trip to the Adelaide Hoodless home at Stoney Creek. the Alexander Graham Bell home- stead, the Vohawk Chapel and the Harding Carpet Factory at Brantford (in 1965). We entertained other W. I. Branches and were invited to neighbouring Branches. We also spon- sored hâ€"H clubs. Our displays and floats were successful at Fall Fairs, and the sale of Christ- mas cards added to our Treasury, as did our Auction sales. Mrs. Pollock attended Conventions and Rallies at Area level. and reports that "altogether they were two busy and interesting years.“
