James Wright purchased from his brotherâ€"in-law, Goldwin McCulloch the 100 acres of grass land, situated at Lot 17, Con. 2, Saugeen. this property being inherited to Goldwin from his father, John McCulloch. in the year 1960. who in turn had purchased the land from Peter Thompson on March 25th, 1929. It formed part of the 200 acre farm that Mr. Thompson owned - the other portion being Lot 16, Con. 2. now owned by Alex. Lamont. There were no buildings on this property when taken over by Mr. John McCulloch. However. there still remains the foundation of a barn, and a well that has been filled in would indicate that a house once stood on that ground. There is a creek running across the farm about halfway back, which supplies plenty of water for grazing cattle, and being of rock bottom, it is easy to cross The back half is bush and thorn trees. at all times. The front half is under cultivation in our centennial year of 1967.
