In the year 1865, on May 15th, Lot 15, Concession 2, Saugeen Township, was bought from the Crown by John h’cGilliv-ray. During the next number of years, the farm changed hands many times, with such names as McDonald, Douglas, Sproat. Craig, Anderson, Wright and Andrew Bain, appearâ€" ing on the title. ' In the year l909, the farm was sold to William Schildx‘oth‘Y Sn, but was occupied by his son, Fred Schildroth. It was sold to George hidd in 1917, and in 1928 it was sold to Fred Schildroth. In 1929 it was occupied by his son William, who was married in June of that year, to Margaret A. Sparks, of Port Elgin. Their family are â€" Harry Arthur; Shirley Liargaret; John William and Russell David. In l9hl, William Schildroth took over the ownership of the farm, and now in the year 1.960 is still residing there. In 1930 a new roof was put on the barn, and the driving shed was rebuilt. In 19M) the original house which had served as a summer kitchen was rebuilt, and in 191.1; a bathroom was installed am the verandah was rebuilt. In l9h6 the hydro was installed, the power being turned on in time for Russell's birthday celebration. The farm Which was named 'Shady Nook Farm' receiveu its title from their daughter, Shirley, now married and living in Litehener.
