Mr. and Mrs. Austin Cluley. LAKE-LEA FARM. ,2- 2.2 Saugeen ’I‘wp., Lot 7, Con. 2. In 1885, David and Sarah ‘.“'allace sold their farm, lot 7, Concession 2, consisting of 100 acres to William B. George, for the sum of £6,536.00. He and his wife, Sarah Jane, had seven children, three boys and four girls, Jo- seph Henry; Arthur James; Gordon Edward; Ellen Jane; Ida May; Elizabeth and Him ie Mae. Mr. George farmed until his death in 1909, when the farm was bought by Mr. Charles 7f. Johnson from his estate for the sum of $5,000.00 in 1910. Charles Johnson was married to Jean Reoch, and to this union was born five girls â€" Mae, Grace, Edna, Phyllis, and Ruth. They lived here till the early 1930‘s, wnerv the farm was taken over by the Mortgagee, Feter Snyder, and was sold in USA, to James \‘L’. Cluley, for the sum of 93,700.00. James Cluley's familyr corsisted of his wife, the former Lfathilda Christmann, one daughter, Reba, and two sons. Eric Christâ€" mann and Austin James. I They moved to the farm in the Spring of l935, and that summer, the old kitchen was torn down, and a new one erected, with an upstairs over it and woodshed attached, and also a sunroom to the west. A building was also moved from their former home, to serve as a car garage. The straw shed being ir. bad repair was also renovated that year, a new hen house and implement shed were also built. Hydro was installed in 1937 in the house, barn and hen house. The water system conâ€" sists of 3 springs â€" one at the house, one ir. the barn and one behind the barn for summer use. A bathroom was added to the house in 1949. In March 1951., James and Maude Cluley sold their farm to their son, Austin, for wl0,000.0U and he moved there in June with his wife, the former Marguerite Boettger, and four children, Carole, Ernie, Sheila and Joanne. In 1955 a. pipe furnace was installed in the house, and in 1956 builtâ€"ir cupboards were added to the kitchen, with the living room being renovated ir 1958. The land on this farm ranges from clay to loam.
