At our regular meeting Mrs. Ruth Axford told of her work as Education Crvrnrdmatnri She also spoke of the Upper Thames Conversation Authority and how it beneï¬ts the rest of the area. A very successful Bake and Plant Sale concluded the meeting On May 29‘" the Salem Nilestown W,I. was hostess to the Middlesex East District Annual held in the Masonic Hall at 7:00 pm. under the theme “Food Safety and Nutrition'i A sandwich lunch with coffee and tea followed the meeting. Our annual outing took us on a tour of the Middlesex Museum at Struthroy. We went in two groups (14 in all) for our tour and laterjoined for lunch in downtown Slruthroy, A carload of ladies attended the County Rally at Coldstream in July and they rcponcd a good tumout. Donations were made: (1) lo the Masonic Order in Nileslown for use of their hall; (2) to the Headquarters Fund in memory of Bertha Vanhie (who died in May 2002); (3) to the Children‘s Hospital, London; (4) of several articles of knitting for the Children's Hospital; and (5) to Focus High for W.l. â€" one dollar per member to F.W.l.0.
