Mr. and Mrs. George Frost. Georgetown. ~Mlss Lynne McLean took part In the skating carnival last Sunday at the Wlarton Arena. Lynne skates with the Tiny Tots and was dressed as a trog. -Friday evening guests with Clara'and Jack Weir In Wiarton were Bill and Edna Cook. -Saturday, Betty Gilbert. Edna Cook, Elda, Norman and Audrey Hepburn drove to Elmira to see the Elmira “Maple Syrup Fesâ€" tivai. The weather was good tor their day and they certainly attract a large crowd of people. -Thcse who play broomball from Purple Valley took In the dance at the Wlarlon Arena on Saturday evening. The rest of us enjoyed the Hardtlmes dance at our Community Centre sponsor- ed by the Berford Lake Snow- mobile Club. Several spot dances were held as we danced to the music by Driftwood. Draws were won by Murray i‘Stewart and Mrs. Ella Wright. The best dressed couple tor hard times went to Douglas Thomp- son and Yvonne Boswell. Norâ€" man Hepburn won the cake baked by Shelley Blandin. It looked like a little old bookâ€" house but tasted okay. A delic- lous lunch was served. Mrs. Terry Johnston. head ol enter- tainment. was responsible for the good time we had. Actually we were iust warming up the floor for the Maple Syrup Festival dance which is this Saturday night, April 5th. Be sure and come to it. The W.l. draw on the two quilts and gallon of maple syrup will be held at the dance. -Did you hear our Maple Syrup Festival chairman. Jim Howe being Inlerviewad on Thursday by Flick Mass of CF03? This was in conlunctlon with their Boost Greyâ€"Bruce programme. Jim gave a very good outline of ail the things we will be doing at our lestival this Saturday, April -5th. The gates open at 11:00 a.m. You can have your pan- cakes then or alter you take In tâ€"Iâ€"l the skeet shooting. try the new ball ringer. watch maple syrup being made, have a pony ride. or look through the cralt booths. Homebaklng will be on sale. Barbara Hepburn will be de- monstrating spinning and Wlar- lon Centennial Committee are having a booth. At 1:30 the Talent Contest will take place. Hepworth and Wiarton bands will be on the grounds to play periodically for your pleasure. If you have to park a long way from all these events. a wagon ride has been arranged to transport you to the hall. Take advantage of it._it‘s free. Don't stay home and watch T.V. Come out and enjoy the day with us at Purple Valley and the night too.
