The first president was Mrs George Young and the secretary-treasurer was Mrs. Neil MacDonald, Last Wednesday the India of the present group held their 50th anniver- snry with former members present, Also attending were Purple Grove, Bervie and Kairshen Institutes, District presi- dent. Sylvia Hansburg. prerenred the club with congratulations to be dis- played at the community mire. The club is pleased to have four charter mem- bers still living: Margaret (Bannerman) Slessor. Joyce Mcwa-In. Hughena Garnish and lean Colwel]. Erlma Haldenby chaired the program by welcom- ing everyone and intro- ducing the guests. The Ode and Mary Stewart Collect opened the meet» ing and a memorial ser- vice for those who are gone was held to honour their dedication to the WI. Gloria Bullock read the minutes of the first and second meetings. It brought back a lot of memories. Gloria inlrov duced the guest speaker. Barbara Ross, from the Alzheimer’s Society in Owen Sound. Barbara Ialked about keeping our brain active to delay the onset of this debilitating disease. She also shared information on dint exer- cise and lifestyle. Eleanor Kraemer thanked Barbara and presented her with a gift. The meeting was hinted over to Helen Stanley for fun time, Helen had two brain teasers and a hilari- ous reading. Alice Hush and Helen Stanley had a skit with n magician whu outwilted a few people. A gift was presented to Margaret Slcssor who had a hirthday closest to Aug. 30‘ The members sang "Sisterhood" and "Grace". Margaret Slessor cut the anniversary cake mm was decorated by Marjorie Nicholson Cake and ice cream were served to the guests and a time of (cl- lowahip followed.
