Glasgow Women's Institute Book 1 - Nov. 17, 1908 The concert held in Davis‘ Hall on Thursday evening was quite a success and enjoyed by all. The building was filled to its utmost capacity, many being unable to get seats. The programme was as follows. Chorus by the choir, entitled, ‘Bob Sad‘. Chairman’s Address, Rev. Henry Young, Soplo, Mr. A. Young Recitation, Miss Lizzie, D. Lindsaty, Solo, Miss Kate Gillespie, ‘Ever of Thee‘ Instrumental on the organ and violin, Miss Murphy and Mr. John Hamilton Dialogue entitled, ‘Peleg and Patience‘ The characters were Misses Mary Bell, Jessie Eady, and Miss Arivilla Mclnnes. Mr. Donald Eady, Mr. Thomas G. Barr and Mr. Jas. Ready, all of whom played their parts well. Solo, Miss Maggie McLeod, Burhstown, ‘The Kell Row’ and responded to an encore with ‘I Io‘ed ne‘re a laddie but ane‘. Recitation, Mrs. Rev. H. Young, Song, Masters Donald and Harvey Ready ‘Putting on Style‘, Intermission was announced by the chairman and apples were plentifully distributed among the audience. Chorus by the choir ‘ Whippoorwill’ Instrumental, Miss Murphy and Mr. John Hamilton Solo, Miss Ethel Mclnnes, Somebody‘s Waiting for you‘ and returning to a heart encore and sang ‘Only One Daisy Left’. Reading, Miss Edna Stewart Solo, Mrs. Gillespie, ‘Ye Banks and Braes’ Dialogue, ‘Personating Elders‘, Lizzie Poland and Eva Ready Instrumental, Miss Arvilla Molnnes and Mr. John Hamilton Solo, Miss Lizzie Poland, ‘It’s not the House that makes the Home Chorus by the choir, ‘Farewell’. God Save the King This brought the entertainment to close. The proceeds amounted to $29 to be devoted to the building fund. 53 of 105
