Voelard was given a hearty vote of thanks for her helpful address. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mrs. J. F. Blane; Ist viceâ€"pres, Mrs. John Affleck; 2nd vice-pres, Mrs. J. Miller, jr.; sec‘y-treas., Miss Agnes McLach- lin; auditors, Mrs.- McLeod and Miss Fisher. Mrs. G. V. Cardiff was appointed rep- resentative to the Provincial convention in Toronto. Five dollars was voted to the work of the YW.C.A. at the front A discussion took place inauguration of a "Cleanâ€"up Day,†and a resolution was passed that each Institute make a start in some way to interest the community in the matter. One Institute had decided to clean up the school premises but were told by the men that It was too heavy work for women. Nothing was done. A suggestion was made that mall box posts be painted. A movement is on foot to have a cook-book compiled by the members of the district to raise funds. The president made a plea for the fairs: Invite Individual exhibitors and give prizes for school fairs. The next annual meeting will be held at Renfrew, the branches of Bonnechere Valley, North and South Horton to be the entertainers. Very bountiful lunches were provided by the ladies of Glasgow Station and a vote of thanks was tendered them for their hospitality to which Mrs. Johnston, the president, replied. 32 of 105
