Glasgow Women's Institute Book 1 Glasgow WI - Oct. 18, 1950 An evening of hilarity was enjoyed to the full by the members and friends of Glasgow Women‘s Institute on the occasion of their October meeting, held at the home of Mrs. J. W. Hamilton. As befitting the Hallowe'en season, members were asked to come in costume and many fearful and wonderful apparitions wended their way to the scene of the meeting. A Hallowe‘en program of stunts, guessing contests, and fortune telling was arranged by some of the new members, Mrs. A. Somerville, Mrs. M. V\fi|son and Mrs. R. Storie. Prize for the best costume went to Mrs. A. Carswell, dressed as Hiawatha. Also on the program was a very full and interesting account of the recent area, ‘Convention in Ottawa, given by Mrs. Somerville. This covered‘ the main points of the area meeting very thoroughly, and left with the members a good deal of useful informaâ€" tion .During a short business discussion, plans for addling to the treasury were given atten- tion, and it was decided1 to make arrangements for holding a dance in the near future. A "pot-luck” supper made a delightful change from the usual type of refreshments served. "Tie November meeting will be at the home of Mrs. W. H. Hamilton, with agriâ€" culture and Canadian industries as the program topic. Glasgow WI â€" St. Patrick’s concert â€" 1956 28 of 105
