Glasgow Women's Institute Book 1 of the first district annual marketing held In South Renfrew, a Burnstown on June 2, 1914, and historical sketch of the past * years growth and development given by Mrs. S. G. V\filson, Arnprior. An impressive "In Memorlam1 tribute to fellow members which had passed on was taken part by three past officers, beginnings with the reading of a beautiful poem, “Memories”, by Mrs. John E. Miller, to the accompaniment of soft music played by Mrs. Stuart McLaren. Mrs. R. Miller then read the "honor roll" of district officers who had been called to higher service, and as each name was read a spray of white lilac was placed in a crystal vast by Mrs. W. A. Bromley. Following a minute‘s silence in reverent memory, a solo by Mrs. W. L Crozier, "My Task”, brought fitting close to this part of the program. A toast "to the past”, was proposed by Mrs. J. Henderson, with Mrs. A. Stewart reâ€" sponding. Mrs. J. H. Findlay proposed the toast "to the present”, with Miss Ina Lindsay taking the place of Mrs. C. D. Dewar in making the response, and the toast to the fu- ture' was offered by Mrs. J. D. Robert son. with Mrs. F. Merrifield, new y elected vice- president, responding. The final toast, "to the Associated Countrywomen of the World", was proposed by Mrs. W Galbraith. and to this Mrs. Leslie Davis replied. As the guests rose to drink each toast, one of the tapers was lighted as a symbol and the program concluded with the lighting of the forty candles on the anniversary cake and the singing of "Auld Lang Syne". Mrs. A. Johnston, of Castleford, one of the earliest members in South Renfrew W.l., was given the honor of cutting the cake with a blue-and-gold decked knife. Both daytime and evening programs were enlivened by the sprightly music of the Goshen W.|. orchestra, whose efforts received rounds of applauses, and Mrs. H. Franâ€" cis, Renfrew, acted as accompanist for community singing, with Mrs. W. L. Crozier as leader. Officers for the coming year are as follows: President, Mrs. R. M. MacGregor; vice president, Mrs. F. Merrifield, Mrs. J. A. Craig, Mrs. W. G. McAdam; secretary, Mrs. W. H. Hamilton: federation representative, Mrs. W. H. Hamilton: alternate, Mrs. R. M. Mac- Gregor; district delegate, Mrs. Gordon Scheel; alternate, Mrs. W. Buffett. Conveners of committees: Agriculture and Canadian industries, Mrs. Duncan Wallace; community activities and public relations, Mrs. A. Bennett; historical research, Mrs. John Hender- son; citizenship and education, Mrs. Wm. Humphries; home economics and health, Mrs. Louis Emon; resolutions, Mrs. . John Hanson; representative to Federation of Ag- riculture, Mrs. lW. McGregor; auditors. Mrs. Frank Russett, Mrs. K. McIntyre. Mrs. J. W. Hamilton, Mrs. W. H. Hamilton, Mrs. J. Cherry and Mrs. M.
