Glasgow Station Women‘s Institute â€" 1917 The meeting for November was held at the home of Mrs. Jas. Gillespie with eleven Ia- dies in Attendance. This institute has Invited the lady speaker to visit us In the winter. On November 10th the members met In the hall and eleven Christmas boxes were packed and sent to the boys overseas from this locality. Yarn was also purchased some time ago and a pair of socks was included in each box. On Saturday, December Ist, the regular meeting was held at the home of the presiâ€" dent, Mrs. A. Murphy. All were glad to see Mrs. Murphy able to preside at the meeting again after being confined to bed for some time from an accident. Miss Mona Carswell gave a very full and Interesting report of the convention held at Ottawa on Nov. 7 and 8. Roll call was taken up and responded to with suggestions for Christmas. Next meet- ing will be held on first Saturday in January, at the home of Mrs., Andrew Hamilton. It was decided to hold next three meetings at 1.30 o'clock instead of 2 o'clock. At the close of the meeting, the secretary was presented with a beautiful silver fruit dish and wishes to express her sincere thanks to the members for their gift, which will always recall pleasant memories of the hours we have spent together in the Women‘s Insti- tute.
