JOFY GORDON GHIEVE Gordon Grieve. Private C16682 was the son of Mr. 8 Mrs. Irving Grieve of Saugeen Township. He attended 5.5. #7, Saugeen and Port Elgin High School. He enlisted on June 2, 1941. Gordon trained at Debut, Nova Scotia until September 15. 1941 when he was sent to England. While there be contacted polio and spent quite some time in hospital at Oxford and later at the Canadian Army Hospital at Bainingstoke. Gordon was sent home from England on April 23, 1944. that he was doomed to alife in wheel Chair. Two doctors in England had assured him Gordon was determined and recovered sufficiently from back and leg paralysis to farm. He was discharged from the army on September 2, 1944. Ptc. C. GRANT GRIEVE Grant was the son of Mr. & Mrs. Irving Grieve He attended 5.3. #7, of Saugeen and Port Elgin High School. He Saugeen Township. enlisted in Tornnto on February 1A, IQAS after his brother returned home. A private in the Canadian Infantry he was stationed in Yarmouth and Aldershot, N.S. where he received his basic and advance training. He volunteered for the Parific Theatrn and went to Vernon B.C. and planned to go ta Georgia for jungle training.
