MORLEY SALMON Private Morley Bruce Salmon, B70998 was born in Sangeen Township the thrid son of Mr. & Mrs. Roy Salmon. He attended S.S. #7, Saugeen Public School and Port Elgin High School. Morley joined the army on February 16, 1945 in Toronto and was stationed at New Market, Ontario, then Sherbrooke and Farnham, Quebec as well as North Bay, Port Arthur in Ontario and Medicine Hat, Alberta. Morley was on Escort Duty with P.O.W.'s (Prisoners of War) to the United Kingdom in MarChâ€"April, 1946 and sailed on the Aquitania with 2,978 German prisoners on board. He was discharged from the army on May 1, 1946. He then worked in Port Elgin at the Sunoco Service Station and the Brewers‘ Retail Outlet. Morley went west to work on the Hydro Lines and later with a trucking firm, eventually settling in Waterloo, Ontario. Here he lived until his death in 1985. Morley never married. Born: June 13, 1926 Died: June 5, 1985 ALLEN MCKINNON Allen was the oldest son of Mr. & Mrs. Arthur McKinnon and lived on the home farm, Lasts 15 & 16, Conc. 7 l 8 Saugeon Township along County Road #17. He attended school in Port Elgin. On becoming 18 years of age, Allen enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force (R.C.A.F.) in 1944. He trained in Canada and did not go overseas. Allen was accidently electrocuted on June 2Q, 1955 and is buried in Sanctuary Park Cemetery, Parr Elain. Born: April 3, 1920 Died: June 19, lUSS
