Bruce County Rally October 18:7;9ggfi_ The 35th Bruce County Rally was held on October 18.l990 at Senior 0:13:23me- The Regristration was by Bruce North. Mrs Graham Chambers and Mrs Allwood led us in song. The Opening Ode and the Mary Stewart Collect were repeated. Mr. White Reeve of Lion Head welcomed us all and hoped we all had a good day. Rev. McFee led us in prayer and gave a few very interesting words. Minutes were read. Mrs McLaggen moved and Mrs Anna Hodge seconded that the minutes be adopted as read. (carried) Financial report was read showing a bank balance of $529.03. Auditors report was given by Mrs Helen Steip reporting that everthing was correct. Moved by Mrs Helen Steip seconded by Mrs Doreen Burt the adoption of the auditors report. (carried) Greetings from the F.W.I.O. was brought by Mrs Borden Fentonâ€" She stated that the Women's Institute are very well known for their resolutions and the interest in the community. She encouraged anyone who is asked to take the challenge of being a Board member or any office to take it as it is a very learning situation. Greeting were brought from Bruce North by Mrs Graham Chambers - she welcomed everyone for coming to Lion‘s Head for the rally. Sharon Gardiner from the R.O.S.P. was unable to attend she sent a letter which was read by Mrs Fenton. Sharon was attending a conference in Ottawa she stated that change and ooâ€"operation is important . The Women's Institue can be very important in this change as the represent the whole community. there is no fast way to change. Tartan Committee report was given by Mrs Joan Northly 7 she states that they had a very interesting year. They are starting to plan for the Ploughing Match in 1993. Mrs Bushell presented Joan with a gift on her retirement from the Bruce County Tartan Scholarshi re ort was given by Mrs Elda Grieve They had one meeting in Paisley where they picked the Scholarship winner Mr. Barry Bates RR#3 Walkerton. He was presented with his award at the Walkerton Fair. She would like to encourage the 4H members to send in their applications. Mrs Grieves moved the adoption of her report it was seconded by Mrs G. Traflet (carried) Entertaiment was provided by Bruce East. They had a beauty contest with Miss Cherrie, Miss P.R.O. and Miss Programme Co ordinator with Miss Programme Co ordinator being chosen as Miss Bruce County Rally for 1990. This was very much enjoyed. Greetings was brought from Bruce Centre - President Mrs Janet McKenzie she read a poem Smile. Bruce East â€" President Mrs Linda Frieburger gave a reading Common Sense. Bruce South President Mrs Charles Murray gave a reading Words. Area President and Grey County Rally by Mrs Ruth Thomas she stated that the Grey County Rally was Aug. 20 1991 and the Area Convention October 3 19 1 in Ayton
