Ode and Mary Stewart Collect Elsie gave a history of the naâ€" tional anthem. Roll call was given by 12 members and some of the people of Trillium Court. There were some interesting answers to “What did you do on CanEda Day?“ Convener Margaret Harkness had two poems, Smile and O Canada. She then had a quiz on Canada Mildred Griffith gave a reading,Canada Day American Style. Hentje Kloosterboer gave a poem, Canada, followed by a sing-a-long with Betty Jean . White at the piano. which the seniors all seemed 'to enjoy. Cookies and a cold drink were served by the' W1 members. .A short meeting was , held. The minutes, finan- ‘cial statements and corre- spondence were read. The new cookbooks were re- ceived. The launch, July 14.11435 8 huge success and the committee served A goodies from the recipes in the book. The minutes Were read and l the financial reporls were given. The Cook Books are selling . Well and 500 more have been ‘ ordered. There was a discussion on the Rose Program. The ‘ Kinloss women. are going to help sponsor it. ‘ The meeting was turned l over to com-ener, Sylvia Hasbury who find a talk on watermelon and she carved a watermelon into a basket. Betty Jean While and Elsie Schuler are going to Stratford on Aug. 14 lo participale in a quilting marathon. The money 'received will he going to Breast Cancer. The meeting ciosed with all enjoying the fruit from [he watermelon basket.
