, SELF-PROFILE: By Rosella Clancy Provincial Tweedsmuir History Curator Just why would anyone apply for or aspire to the position of Provincial Tweedsmuir Curator? For me. the answer is. quite simply. that I enjoy the work. Soon afterjoining Stirling Women's Insti- tute in the late 19705, [became their Branch Tweedsmuir Curator. Since that time. I have also worked for an 8â€"year period as District Curator. My husband (I think out of frustra- tion and the desire for order) built an eight-foot long table with folding legs on which I do my Tweedsmuir work. The foldâ€" ing legs mean that the table can be stored, periodically, from his view. When I sit down to work at that table space. I become ener- gized to record today's happenings and Excellence in Agriculture Award Have you ever attended the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair? Rural and urban life styles have brought pleasure and supplied variety in my life. My childhood was spent on a Rawdon farm. It was on this same farm that my husband, Maurice. and I resided after marriage. We farmed an expanded dairy and swine opera- tion with my parents in Rawdon and Sidney Townships in Hastings County. In the ‘705 we moved to Stirling. the hub in a rural landscape of rolling hills and fertile soil. It was in this village where Maurice and I attended King George High School and where we became members of St. Paul‘s United Church. after our rural church in Eggleton was closed in 1967. I consider it an honour to have received Service Diplomas from two Stirling organizations - the Agri» cultural Society (Fair) and the Horticultural Society.
