Reid’s Carners WI, Bruce County, y-Bruce Area s active Branch of 35 members has been busy in the past year or so with a variety of programs. These programs have included guest speakers from the OPP. other countries. a long-term care facility and local historians. And they were surprised to find their tour of a local cemetery very interesting One of their more memorable programs, however, involved hosting a Branch from the Ottawa area. providing them with lunch and accompanying the group to a local play. They chuckled at the fact that because both groups had cheese factories in their area. they ended up exchanging gifts of cheese, Branch’s longâ€"time members. left to right in the back row. are Margaret Reid. Members refer to Edith as a tall. stately lady and a delight to know. She held many ofï¬ces during her 70 plus year membership in the Branch A fantastic cook. she is also noted for the tasty roasts she cooked for community fundraising dinners. Prescott District WI, Eastern Area Several members from this District took a wellâ€"earned break between serving meals at the Vankleek Hill Fair For two days they cooked and sewed lunch and dinner for over 600 hungry friends and neighbours.
