Southline Brant WI Brain Health was the topic of choice at a recent ROSE Session hosted by the JOB WELL DON El Southline Brant WI, Bruce County District. The WI Branch worked with the Alzheimer Society of Grey» Bruce to present the seminar that included three sessions. Part one focussed on a brief explanation of each type of dementia, how to cope and how to support a caregiver of someone with dementia. Part two was an overview of how to reduce the risk of dementia and actions for a healthier brain. Part three saw attendees putting their brains to work in an interactive game of “Jeopardyâ€. Rockton WI Rockton WI Member Gwenyth Richardson and President Pat Cooper worked with ist Rockton Girl Guides to complete a child's quilt for Rockton Fairs Blankets for Babies campaign. Pat Cooper says "We are a small village but our young girls receive lots of support from our community, including the local WI". They have already determined their next project which is applique’d pot holders for Mother's Day. Great job ladies! 4 210,532 _“ “ ï¬g“ lngleside WI The big new in Stormont Township is a project to enlarge the local library. The Ingleside WI jumped on the bandwagon and donated $100 toward this much needed extension. They are a small group of 10 Members but have supported a number of worthy projects in the community including the Seniors Support Centre and donations to a local charity for Christmas. Norfolk District Marjorie Porter (left) received the Women's Institute Woman of Excellence Award at the opening ceremony of the Norfolk County Fair in Simcoe. Carol Lacey (right), president of Norfolk WI presented the award. Marjorie has a long record of volunteering in the Homecraft Division of the fair, as well as being a WI Life Member, and is most deserving ofthis special award.
