Headquarters Fundraising Update To date, the Headquarters Fund sits at $816,263 as of October 31, 2008 Help build the FWIO future - contact the FWIO Provincial Ofï¬ce to donate or get more information. Hawkestone WI (Simcoe Kempenfeldt District) entered a float in their local Canada Day parade themed the Provinces of Canada. The float had flags and provincial flowers of each province and WI Members and friends dressed in red and white. The Branch won ï¬rst prize and will use the $75 prize to help with their work within the community. McDonald). l‘fl‘f‘erï¬iï¬â€˜ofla'l Fï¬Ã©hds Algoma Centre and North Shore District WI hosted an International Picnic at Bondar tent Pavillion in Sault Ste. Marie with 19 guests from the Michigan Association for Family and Community Education (M.A.F.C.E). Fiftywtwo Members attended and enjoyed a delicious buffet Iunch followed by a 2 hour boat cruise of the locks, shopping and visits to the various attractions in the city. Friendships were renewed, new friends were made and ideas exchanged with the organizations on both sides of the St. Mary‘s River. The 2009 International Picnic will be hosted by M,A.F.C.E in Cheboygan, Michigan. Road Show Kent District held two very successful Antique Road Show Identiï¬cation Clinics (April 2006 and April 2008). A pa neI ofï¬ve experts offered opinions on items brought in by community Members. This past year, as word got out, people were lined up at the door one hour prior to the event! Proceeds from the event are being donated to the MRI Campaign at the Chatham/Kent Health Alliance.
