Agricultural leadership Program The fourth class ofthe Advanced Agricultural Leadership Program (AALP) is scheduled for Septem- ber. 1991. AALP is designed for men and women, approximately 25 to 40 years old. who are in the early stages of a leadership career. Since the time of their 90th anniversary celebrations. the FWIO has awarded $500 scholarships to help WI members pursue higher educaâ€" tion. In today‘s economic climate and competitive job market. many Women‘s Institute members have gone back to school to update their skills. Meet the 1990 winners of the 90th Anniversary Scholarships: Judith Almond-Best of Madoc, a member of the Queensborough WI. has been studying on a part- time basis at the University of Waterloo and the University of Otâ€" tawa, She is working towards a 3.5:. in Nursing and wants to work as a Community Health Nurse; an occupation she feels has great scope, variety and challenge. Linda Bowen. an Edenvale WI member from Minesing. is present- ly enrolled fullâ€"time at Georgian College. She hopes to gain up-to- date knowledge and skills. and eventually land a job in the area of General Office Administration. Jeanette Fleischer, a Bear Creek WI member from Wyoming, wants to obtain a General Arts and Science Certificate from Lambton College in Sarnia. She has been attending part-time. and hopes to work as a Counsellor for abused women and children or as a Recreational Direc- tor in a nursing home. Marg Harris. from Ilderton. and member of the South Lobo W], has been Lipâ€"grading her skills in Word and Data Processing at Westervelt School of Business in London. As a WI member she has been intro- duced to many different learning ex- periences. and now Marg would like to contribute even more to her Com- munity with hernewly gained skills. Beverly Pickard. a member of the Gordon‘s WI from Gore Bay. Is aiming to become a Food Semees Supervisor.
