By Evelyn Rath For the fourth year, Mossley WI m: involved in Radio 98 Community Club Awards. This is a Charityâ€" issisting program where member groups collect cans and bottle caps irom Coke products, as well as many nroduct codes and store receipts, .vhich must be counted and forwardâ€" .-d to Radio 98 to acquire points vhich are later converted into cash .wards. This year there is $60,000 A be awarded. Four million dollars with of sales were generated by this impaign to the benefit of local .tores, businesses and specific pro- :ucts. Mossley WI has won $2,997 l the last three campaigns. Last year Radio 98 Club Awards 'rograrn collected 50,000 Campâ€" :ll‘s soup labels. These in turn were onated to the Canadian Figure Rating Association which received 2,500 for redeeming them. Seven mint eight (7.8) tonnes of Coke com- ‘rny cans and caps were recycled. We feel this project works well for WI fro several reasons. It is a real publicity campaign for var group, as your family. neigh- ors, and every group to which any -t' your members belongs ends up allecting for you. It helps the environment, as many ms along roads and in parking lots re gathered. It is necessary for your group to tork closely together to count and My your returns, so your group is trengthened. L. It is a social activity. We have had ar trips; bus trips, theatre parties, 'uest speakers and fashion shows, all 0 support W. If here is a Community Club \wards Program in your area, why loesn‘t your group become involved? too must be prepared for lots of aork, but we can recommend it!
