There will be a leadership develop- ment conference for Ontario’s WI members in 1988. Eva Tuck and Carol Craig were appointed to a committee to bring recommendations to the annual board meeting regarding suitable exchange gifts for our twin province, Prince Edward Island. at the time of the Federated Women's Institutes of Canada (FWIC) Cenvention in New- foundland in 1988. All entries to the FWIC Past Presiâ€" dents‘ Essay Competition should be submitted to the area. The area will screen the entries and then forward the top three to the provincial level via the provincial hoard director. Judges will then select three winning entries which will be forwarded to FWIC. These winners will be given 310 each by FWIO. An Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW) Eastern Canada Regional Conference was held in Charlottetown. PEI in May. FWIO President Margaret Munro attended, representing FWIO. ACWW has changed its fiscal year to correspond to the calendar year. The FWIO areas will assume the responsibility of collecting and for- warding AC WW memberships to the office in England (address on page two of Home & Country) by Dec 31 of each year. The FWIO annual board meeting will be held at the Bond Place Hotel, Toronto from Nov. 16 to 20, 1987. Again this year, volunteer WI members will stall the FWIO booth in the upper east annex at the Royal from Nov. 11 to 22. I987. The purpose of the meeting was to formulate the stand of the 10 Ontario delegates who will be attending the Third National Farm Women’s Con- ference in Saskatoon, Nev. 12 to 18. 1987. Mrs. Grose will be the FWlO delegate to this conference.
