Meet 90th anniversary special speakers ROSALIE WYSOCKI Rosalie Wysocki is a leader in the ï¬eld of personal development and one of Canada’s foremost speakers. She is a successful entrepreneur, a leader in community affairs, the mother of two children and an avid squash and tennis player. . 1 Rosalie Wysocki Ms. Wysocki began her career in motivation and human resource development 25 years ago as a business and commerce instructor. She went on to work with an inter- national publishing company where she was responsible for sales, recruit- ment, as well as management training and development. She achieved top North American awards as a sales professional, manager and motivator of people. Recognizing the key role human resources play in the success of every organization, Ms. Wysocki established Wysocki & Associates in 1980. She now conducts workshops and seminars and presents keynote addresses at conventions and conferences. Ms. Wysocki will be speaking on Motivation, Potential and You at the 90th Anniversary WI Convention. DR. ELLEN MCLEAN She and husband, John, operate a dairy farm in Eureka, Nova Scotia. Active in her county federation of agriculture, Dr, McLean has served on the Canadian Council of Rural Development, chaired the CBC Advisory Committee on Agriculture and Food, served on the Pictou County Research and Development Commission and on the committee which co-ordinated the first National Farm Women’s Conference in Canada. In 1966, Dr. McLean received the Bank of Montreal Farm Leadership Award. In 1976, St. Francis Xavier University bestowed on her an honorary degree for involvement in the rural community. Dr. McLean received the Order of Canada in 1980 and in 1986 was inducted into the Atlantic Agricultural Hall of Fame. Dr. McLean is presently sewing her second threeâ€"year term as president of the Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW) which has a membership of over 9 million women in 30 countries. She is also past presi« dent of the Federated Women‘s Institutes of Canada. R. ALEX SIM R. Alex Sim is a sociologist who spent some of his early childhood years on a farm near Holstein, Grey County. He began his career as the first Director of Rural Education Service at MacDonald College in Montreal. During that time he organized adult community schools in the anglophone communities of Quebec Because of the scattered nature of the groups, he used the radio as his medium. This approach was eventually picked up by the CBC and became the popular Farm Radio Forum program. He later became involved wnh the Rural Learning Assoctarmn which sponsors Folk SchOUIs and for man; years operated Folk Schools from htx farm near Ottawa. Mr. Sim also worked for the federal government a: DirectOr of Field Scnices tor the Citizenship Branch during the period R. Alex Sim when many groups, including the Women’s Institute, were setting up conveners in the area of citizenship. At the present time, he lives in Guelph were he has recently com, pleted research for a book, The New. Rural Community. He is now involved in the process of getting it published.
