Junior Women’s Institutes of Ontario Update from JWIO president Here we begin, a fresh new start. Your April 1 elections should have taken place and 1 hope you have some new faces on your executive as well as some new faces in your membership. Fresh new ideas help to keep interests going and friendship spreading. The spring district meetings should be well under way. District 1 is holding their meeting on Saturday. April 13 and will be hosted by Hastings Branch; District 2 meets in May with the host Branch, Villa Nova; and, District 3 will be meeting on Saturday, April 13 with the host branch being North Grey. 1 hope you will try to attend the Spring District Meeting in your area. It will give you a chance to enjoy some workshops and meet some new friends as well as old friends. and guess what, there is no business. This is really a chance for you to enjoy some of the learnâ€" ing experiences of other J.W.l. members. Please try to attend and support your district. The Women’s Institute has formed a committee called Concerns of the Women‘s Institute of the Future. This Committee is headed by Mrs. Verna Maluske who is a past presi- dent ofthe F.W.l.0. Carol Hyde and myself have been attending these meetings and have learned quite a bit. The committee will be putting forth recommendations to the Board of the F.W.l,O. in the fall. Please. if you have any issues of concern or any ideas, let us know by dropping Carol or myself a line. I am only too pleased to pass on your comments, The Rural Organizations and Services Branch sends out a publica- tion called Network. In the past issue were a few bits of information I would like to pass on to you. 1. Promotional kits containing a poster and brochures to stimulate ideas for International Year of the Youth are now available. 2. Joyce Canning has compiled a list of program resources for rural 22 women‘s groups from publicaâ€" tions to audio-visual aids.
