Federated Women ’s Institutes of Ontario Annual Meeting Provincial Board of Directors Mrs. Harvey Houston - Public Relations Ofï¬cer The annual meeting of the Federated Women‘s lnâ€" stitutes of Ontario was held at the Lord Simcoe Hotel December 5-9. I977. Mrs. Herb Maluske welcomed all. especially the ï¬fteen Board Directors and the one Junior Director attending their ï¬rst meeting and said “it is my hope your enthusiasm and your energies Will be rekindled and redirected to furthering the work of FWIO through your own Branches. Districts. Subdivi- sions. and Areas." THE PRESIDENT REPORTS “1 present my last report as Provincial President with mixed emotion. grateful for the many experiences and a little sad to be closing the covers on a wonderful period of my life." Mrs. Mttlttske told about her presidential duties and reviewed the meetings attended since the semi an- nual meeting. (all of which have been reported in a previous issue). The highlight being the 80th Anniver~ sary and the trip through northern Ontario with Mrs. HackeL-Pain. Because of a heavy schedule. Mrs. Geo Burr. Vice- President. attended the Fall meeting of the JWIO. Girls‘ Conference and Leaders’ Breakfast. Referring to Area Conventions. Mrs. Maluskc sug- gested there Is a worthwhile role for the alternate Board Director and she should be asked to contribute more. Ofï¬cers are always changing so it remains a constant learning experience to train the newcomer to adapt to new situations. PUBLIC RELATIONS REPORT In presenting the ï¬nal report Mrs. Houston s she was amazed at the new ideas which surface e year. Comparing the ï¬rst and last reports during term in 1971-72 she pointed out, two Districts ; nine Branches did not report. eight Areas had ltlt‘ In 1977 all Areas and Districts had 100% with u seven delinquent Branches.
