The ï¬rst function for delegates attending the conference was the Ofï¬cial tt'ption at the Parliament Buildings in Nairobi. Our ~t was the Hon. Dr. Zachary Onyonka. MP the ulster for Housing and Social Services. The following evening we were the guests of His .rship the Mayor. Andrew K, Ngumba. at a Civic ccption in Charter Hall at the City Hall in Nairobi. were entertained by Band Music. singing and neing and the traditional speeches. I was entertained along. with several other dele- in to 21 Tea Party given by the Muslim Women's .socitttion. There was afternoon entertainment in the 0m of a concert with skit. dance and song numbers. llN was followed by a period of gift-presenting by teral of the delegates to the association. The women ‘1 girls were so beautifully attired in their native tumes I could scarcely take my eyes away from the .ht. Then came the delicious food. The taste ofsyrup innated fried cakes I shall never lorget. The hostess Societies entertained all delegates to a vrewell Dinner Party at the Bomas of Kenya. The ‘nu of Kenya dishes included grilled goat. Kenya cese along with a dozen other interesting dishes. Traditional dancing was enjoyed by the Bonias of unya dancers in their spectacular circular theatre. PRESIDENT ELECTED Mrs. Raigh Roeâ€"Delegates elected a member of the CWA of Western Australia to the oï¬ice of Presi- dent ofACWW. Mrs. Raigh Roe C.B.E.. former State and National President was elected in I973, Honorary Life Member of the Country Women‘s Association, - Since 1901 Mrs. Roe has been actively involved in projects concerned “llII Aboriginal Brownies and Guides. In I969 she initiated a pilot project which de~ vcluped into annual residential Homemaker schools for teenage Aboriginal Girls. and Nutrition Seminars for Aboriginal Women. Recently she \\.is appointed as the only woman on the Western Australia Wheat Council. Married with three sons she recently inmcd to Perth from a “heat and sheep farm.
