UR STRENGTH The Pool County FWlO Scholarship winner is Cath- arine Ann Russell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Russell. RR. 2, Brampton. Miss Russell is a graduate of Maytielo‘ Secondary School and is now attending McMaster University. She has completed 17 4â€"H Clubs and has been a delegate to the Girls' Conlerence in Guelph and the National 4â€"H Citizenship Seminar in Ottawa. FLORENCE P. EADIE SCHOLARSHIP This year is no exception. the Florence P. Eadie Women’s Institute Scholarship was awarded to Kathy Sellers. daughter of Dr, and Mrs, C. Sellers. Wellesley. Women‘s lnstitute is a tradition in her family, her grandmother Mrs. Wm. Morlock. of St. Jacobs is a pas prest em 0 uelph Area while her mother is a member of the Wellesley WI, Kathy has her Provin- cial Honours and has been an assistant leader. She feels she gained as much as she gave when an assistant leader and is proud that their membership is growing and has a good balance ofjunior and senior girls. Last year she was in the Philippines as a Rotary Exchange student. She lived with three different host families and attended two different schools. A private school for students from kindergarten to fourth year high school (equivalent to Grade XI) and a trade school where girls learned sewing. cooking or electron- res. While away as a Rotary exchangee. she missed her Grade XIII year, however. she entered the University of Waterloo with her Grade X11 and is a student in the political science coursc with the thought of a future in law or the diplomatic service. There are many requests for her to speak about her year overseas. but She weaves this smoothly into her schedule along with 4â€"H and working two nights a week for a catering firm. The Dorothy Futcher Scholarship presentation in- cluded L â€" r Home Economist. Donna Doelman; Mrs. J. R. Futcher. former FWlO President. for whom Scholar- ship was named; Mrs, Gordon Gow and scholarship winning daughter, Jeannie Gow; Mrs. Earl Morden. FWlO Secretary Treasurer; Mrs. Keith Hiepleh. FWlO Board Director. Margaret Louise Duncan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Duncan of Caledon was the Peel County Women’s Institute Bursary awardee. Miss Duncan graduated from Mayfield Secondary School and is attending Brock University majoring in languages. She received Provincial Honours and was a delegate representing 4â€"H at the ONE.
