MINISTER’S DINNER The Hon. Wm. A. Stewart entertained the Board of irectors and Executive of FWIO as well as some stafl‘ fthe Ministry and Home Economics Branch to din~ er in the Alberta room of the Royal York. Miss Helen McKercher introduced the guests hich included Mrs. Maluske. Mrs. Morden and Dr. hapman. Mr. Stewart told of some of his concerns and the work being carried on by the Ministry through Agri» culture and the related industries. He complimented FWIO for their work with the youth through 4H lead« ership and scholarships and was pleased to note the acceptance the Erland Lee Home had received from the public. He told a little of the work the Ministry is doing at the Agricultural Museum. Milton. which is in the initial stage of development. The president's badge was passed on to Mrs. Mil- ltiske by Mrs. Noblitt while she in turn received a Past Pre5ident‘s badge from Mrs. Zoeller. Mrs. Maiuske ex- pressed thanks and pledged her loyalty to the wort; of the Women‘s Institute. second and Third year Board Directors JUNIOR WOMEN'S INSTITUTE ACTIVITIES REPORT Miss Jane Miller There are presently seven branches with a total of one hundred and seven members. Two new branches formed in l974 were at Lucknow and North Grey in Owen Sound. it appears from reports. that all JWlO had well organized and informative regular monthly meetings. as well as having one branch project to raise funds. The Spring Meeting was held in April. hosted by the Wainfieet branch in the Niagara District. The Fall conference was at Sheffield in the Scott‘s Corner W.l. Hall. A speaker from CUSO spoke and showed slides on his work and experiences while in Africa. During the noon banquet the JWIO were pleased to honour Dr. Ethel Chapman as Honorary President and Miss Jean Scott as Honorary Member. In the afternoon a trip was taken to the African Lion Safari and Game Farm at Rockton. The Provincial project. the printing ot‘tt booklet “A Little Bit of Everything“ goes into its third printing.
