Dr Chapman interpreted the poem for the girls as follows “Some will have a dream to give". Some young people have strong inclinations to do a particular thing. such as Dr. Banting who worked against impos- sible difficulties to give the world insulin. “Some will give a flower“. People with great talents may create things of beauty. in art. music. books, or even in their every day living with gracious and gentle examples. "Some have only hungry hands that take and give to none“. These are the greedy self-centred people who think only of themselves and their wants. “Some will mark the world for aye. some for but an hour“. Some girl in the audience may do some great and heroic thing that can never be forgotten. “Some will tire and fall asleep before the day is done".
