Twins Unite By Mrs. Norman Jamieson and Mrs. Calvin Carmichael Ontario welcomes Newfoundland Women's Insti- tute members. Through the F.W.l.C.. United Nations and Inter- national Exchange program the Conveners were twin- ned with various provinces. Ontario was twinned “uh Newfoundland. Because of this. an Institute Branch from Newfoundland applied to the Secretary of State Department and received a travel grant. Members from Catalina, Little Catalina and Fort Union travelled by bus across Newfoundland to Port aux Basques, a six hour boat trip to North Sydney and by train to Toronto. On to Hillsburgh where hostesses from 12 branches from Wellington Centre were wait» ing to greet them. After this long travel. a day had been set aside for resting. instead. everyone wanted to go sight seeing. so locally our guests enjoyed farm. factory and scenery. The Adelaide Hoodless Homestead was the first stop on a day long tour. then to the Erland Lee Home at Stoney Creek, A representative from the Secretary of State. Mr. E. Smee. welcomed the ladies as well as 'Mrs. Zoeller and Mrs. Miller. A picnic lunch was en» 'jO'yed on the grounds and the weatherman had put his best foot forward and we could see Toronto across Lake Ontario. We were fortunate to see a boat going through the locks. Niagara Falls and the illumination was more beautiful than anyone had ever imagined. ' and how those cameras clicked.
