em you will find them well reported in the summer Issue of Home and Country 1949. This is pretty much a brief outline of what took place at that Conference 25 years ago. it was voted a tremendous success and year after year has proved itself with increased Lll- tendsnce and renewed interest. I know this 25th Conference will be an out- standing one. If you ponder what you yourself have gained from your Institute experience of many years, I am sure you‘ll decide that one of your chief rewards was the making of friends. That has been my personal experience. Anything that l have been able to contribute is far outweighed by the good friends here and good friends there, whose interest has added so much to my life. So. in closing I felt that i would like to leave with you the definition of a friend taken from an old Arabic proverb. “A friend is one to whom one may pour out the content of one‘s heart. chaff and grain to- gether knowing that the gentlest of hands “ill take it and sift it, keep what is worth keeping and with the breath of kindness blow the RBI away." Musical Interludes during the Conference sessions were under the direction of Mrs. lmin Maltby who acted as pianist and song lender. l. "l Fm!“ I." â€" Mn. John Donnell.
