The Girls Said â€" com’d. from page 10 The 4-H Conference at Guelph University started off with a busy schedule and kept it up throughout the whole conference. The get-acquainted party held in the base- ment of War Memorial Hall on the first night was an excellent opportunity to meet all the girls representing the different districts of On- tario. All the talks and groups were interesting and listening to the Miniature Carillon for the first time was a pleasure. Perhaps the worst part of the whole conference was the hot, hu- mid weather we had for the majority of the time. All the girls were friendly, had a ready smile and were willing to talk with you at any time. This quality was what made the confer- ence the success it was. Without it it is hard to say how it would have turned out. Marilyn Lahti Sudbury District This conference Was just great, a bit rushed at times though, and really hot. Dr. Chapman is a very interesting speaker FALL I 972 and I‘d like to have the opportunity of hearing her again. From this conference I have gained an im- mense liking for the Guelph campus and many new friends. I hope to see these conferences continue and by-the-way, the pizzas in Guelph are great! Kathy Freeman Manitoulin Island Personally, this conference was a rewarding ex- perience. I know that my English is not very good but I tried hard. Since I’m French and that all my 4-H Units have been taught only in this language but by exchanging ideals and customs of our own area and gaining others. As interest group, effective speaking provided a field of activity â€" voice, tone, etc. I think the conference inspired my mind to a new thinking. Our role as women gradually changes and that I’ll try to bridge. As a woman in the world we need to be in- dividuals to others and “bridge” the dis- crimination existing between the female role and the male’s role.
