RENFREW WOMEN’S INSTITUTES Women's Institute Branches in Rent’rew County provided ingenious publicity for their organization and A.C,W.W. by promoting a contest for a display with the theme. “The As- sociated Country Women of the World." White Lake Branch was the first prize win- ner with the all 'round theme depicting the growth of the Women‘s Institutes from the founding at Stoney Creek in [897 through the years to affiliation in A.C.W.W. Highlighting the display was a sturdy Canadian tree bearing 68 golden maple leaves with a name of one of the 63 affiliated societies on each. Burnstown's effort was a striking portrayal of the North West Territories showing a win~ ter and slimmer scene with a central map marking the points where Women‘s Institute groups had been organized.
