I enjoyed the 4-H Conference at Guelph very much. The best thing of all was the ban- quet at Creelman Hall with all the girls in their fancy dresses. The banquet was lovely with plenty of delicious food to eat. I have met many girls from the district and counties. I really enjoyed the skits, the times we had singing together and Dr. Ethel Chap- man's speech. Another great pleasure was Miss Jean Stee- kle with her pictures and talk about "Home- making Around the World." 1 hope all the girls have enjoyed the confer- ence as much as I have. Linda Bond. Manitoulin Island. Left â€" Mrs. Margaret Woof, Supervisor of County Home Economists with a discussion group at the Girls‘ Conference. GOOD HOURS 1 had for my winter evening walk â€" No one at all with whom to talk. But I had the cottages in a row Up to their shining eyes in snow. And I thought I had the folk within: I had the sound of a violin; I had a glimpse through curtain laces Of youthful forms and youthful faces. I had such company outward bound. I went till there were no cottages found. I turned and repented, but coming back I saw no window but that was black. Over the snow my creaking feet Disturbed the slumbering village street Like profanatioti, by your leave. At ten o'clock of a winter eve. Robert Frost.
