The event was the Junior Women's Institute Annual Meeting held at Teeswater Town Hall in Tecswater on April 17. l97l. FUN, FEL- LOWSHIP. FANTASTIC PROGRAMS was the theme. Hostcsses tor the day were the two Tceswa- ter clubs. They were in charge of registration and prepared the delicious meat Fellowship mixed with active involvement and enthusiasm reigned throughout the day. A get acquainted game. "Mix and Match" got everyone min- gling. The giris were able to try their creative talents at the eratt ‘dipâ€"it llowers.‘ A lively sing song had everyone bouncing especially with “George Washington Bridge.‘ Do you get in a rut everytime it‘s your turn to plan a meeting? Are you tired of having the same type of program? At the annual meeting the Junior Institute girls may have come with this in mind but left with a wealth ol’ ideas for programs. In small groups they discussed how to plan a Variety of types at meetings centering around eseursions. a club lun night. speakers. and a community project night. A speaker telling about the United Nations, \isiting Senior Citizen Homes. setting up animal clinics. cleaning tip the Community Centre. a sports night and a hay ride were jthl a few of the many program ideas the girls suggested. 'lhrottgh the discussion they gained a better understanding for planning an interest- ing hilt worthwhile meeting, becoming more aware of their duties as a member when plan- ning a meeting a hetore. during and after. Also the girls acquired a vast range of ideas lor types of meetings to tr_\ in their own clubs. lirertone agreed that these types of meetâ€" ings were worthwhile because most were edu- cational. All would be interesting. Above all these meetings draw all the members and get them working together as a whole club.
