The Associated Country Women of the World It was reported by Mrs. Zoeller that the A.C.W.W. council meeting will be held in London, England, September 9, 10, 11, 1970; that the 13th triennial conference of A.C.W.W. will be held at the University of Oslo, Norway, August 10-19, 1971; that On- tario will have five voting delegates plus two council members and two accredited Visitors. Pro-conference tours are planned in England the week before the conference and in some Scandinavian countries afterward. The A.C.W.W. Competition â€" The essay. “My Countryside, Today and Tomorrow" must be in the F.W.I.O. office by November 1, 1970, and will be judged at provincial level only. Handwork Competition. A place mat for ta- ble or tray, size not more than 18 inches by 12 inches -â€" see page 28 this issue of Home and Country. Entries for the Handwork Competition must be judged at area level regardless of the time of the area convention and must be in the F.W.I.O. office, 1200 Bay Street, Toronto 185, by November 1, 1970. Public Relations Mrs. Clarence Diamond reported increased requests for displays, supplies and program material, indicating a desire on the part of our members for a better understanding of the role of each member as a public relations person for our Organization. Mrs. Diamond expressed her thanks for the cooperation received from the news media in handling releases forwarded from F.W.I.C. re the National Convention. UNICEF, National Child Safety Week. and others. As P.R.O., Mrs. Diamond said that she has attended Offi- cers’ Conference and constitution meetings, conducted workshops and short courses. as well as setting up displays. The P.R.O. ex~ pluincd that the Donations Report forms are sent out to all branch secretaries in Ontario and if the forms are not received by the branch Public Relations Officer by March lst. she should contact her secretary treasurer to check first, then write the F.W.I.O. office in Toronto and more forms will be sent. Concluding her report Mrs. Diamond said. “Women's Institute members must take the ini- tiative, dream the ideas, spot the needs of our times. open new avenues of service, then atâ€" tempt to either carry these high hopes to com- pletion or spur those whose responsibility it is." International Scholarship It was reported that Nazmiye Salman, the sixteen-yearâ€"old girl living in a small village in Turkey is under the sponsorship of F.W.I.0. through its International Scholarship Fund. Pictures of this young lady and information re adult education in Turkey were on display.
