Through her quick effort, Women‘s Institutes learned of information and benefitted at the Area Conventions. In this report on resolutions which had been sustained at the spring meeting. Mrs, Small told the Board that the resolution re violence. etc. on TV brought a reply from the C.B.C. expressing appreciation for Women‘s Institute concern and stating that where programs re- flect controversial or disturbing aspects of modern society, it is because they feel televi- sion should include a realistic picture of times we live in. and always the choice of program is up to the individual. Two resolutions dealing with education and an emergency one expressing dissatisfaction of spiralling education costs brought assurance that it was a major concern of the Ontario De- partment of Education.
