THE ANNUAL MEETING Nov. 25-28, 1969 The annual meeting of the directors of the provincial board of the Federated Womens Institutes of Ontario was held in the EliZabeth Room of the King Edward Hotel. Toronto. With President Mrs. Austin S. Zoeller presidâ€" ing. the sessions opened on Tuesday morning of November 25. In her opening remarks, Mrs. Zoeller welcomed the members and stressed the importance of participation by each person and the need to ask questions if all proceed- ings were not understood, so each director would go home fully informed to work togeth- er with the members of her subdivision. Eight new directors Were welcomed and all directors received folders containing copies of reports and other material pertinent to the sesâ€" HIGHS. THE PRESIDENT REPORTS Mrs. Zocller reviewed the highlights of her first year in office, mentioning the Annual A.C.W.W. Council Meeting, Officers‘ Confer- ence, District Annuals attended, the 4-H Girls’ Conference at Guelph University, the Junior Women’s Institute Convention at which a new Constitution and By Laws were discussed and accepted, meetings of the F.W.I.C. Board and Adelaide Hoodless Homestead Committee, fourteen Area Conventions, many committee meetings including review of scholarship awards and appiicalions, interviewing applica- tions for the position of F.W.IO. Secretary Treasurer, the Lee Homestead and the Finance Committee. She reported attending four cele- brations of 60th Branch 60th Anniversaries and told of regretting having to decline several invitations because of distance or previous commitments, addressing two 4â€"H Leaders’ Breakfasts and many other occasions when she represented the Federated Women's Institutes of Ontario. THE A.C.W.W. COUNCIL MEETING â€" LONDON ENGLAND SEPT. 10-12, 1969 Retiring after having served A.C..W.W. as general secretary for twenty years, Mrs. Stella Bell was feted and presented with gifts. The new appointee, Miss Elizabeth O’Kelly was in- troduced and welcomed.
