Board Directors approved a motion that the Federated Women’s Institutes of Ontario would not affiliate with any outside organiza- ticns. A new Junior Women‘s Institute in Welland County with a membership of 13 girls was re- ported by Mrs. Lowell Eller. Mrs. John A. Charlton reviewed details of life membership cards, a continued effort to realize an accurate list of life members in the province. Folders containing names of Branch Presi- dents and Secretaries in their respective sub-di- visions were given to each Board Director to assist in communicating information to them. The President and Secretary of F.W.I.O. have obtained judges for F.W.I.C. competi- tions as follows: Essay Competition judged at Provincial level only, Dr. Ethel Chapman: Handicrafts, Miss Eleanor Flint, Home Eco- nomics Branch, Ontario Department of Agri- culture and Food, Toronto; and Mr. Don Kerr, Photographic Service, Ontario Depart- ment of Agriculture and Food, University of Guelph, will judge the slides. Noblitt presented to the Board a proposal endorsed by the Ottawa Area Womâ€" en’s Institute Convention to purchase a build- ing in Ottawa as a National House to provide office space for F.W.I.C., annual board meet- ings, etc. and display rooms for exhibits from countries of A.C.W.W. This was discussed and no further action taken. Slides and handicrafts winning prizes at Area Conventions are to be forwarded to F.W.I.C. office February lst.
