The "Rajah", a papier mache t'igure bor- rowed from a local travel agency. sat on a silk covered table. The Street Bazaar contained all the brass ware, ornaments, and carvings that the members and their friends could find to contribute. The hangings were oriental-style silk draperies from a member‘s parlor, Biographical sketches of Prime Minister In- dira Ghandi of India and Mrs. Aroti Dutt, president of the A.C.W.W., were presented, The sketches stressed the achievements of modern women in an ancient land. A nurse at the local hospital whose home is in Bombay. India, addressed the meeting. She told of the life lived by the ordinary women of India: of the contrast to the lives their mothers lived. The speaker wore a beautiful silk sari and showed the methods for draping a sari. On the walls of the hall were posters illus- trating life in India (also borrowed from the travel agency) and a map of India.
