WI. 0. Annual Board Meeting By Mrs. Clarence Diamond, Provincial P. R. 0. The 1968 Annual Board Meeting of the Federated Women's Institutes of Ontario was held in the Elizabeth Room, King Edward Ho- tel, Toronto. November 26-29, 1968. Presiâ€" dent, Mrs. Everett Small opened the sessions with a special welcome for the 16 new Direc- tors. She emphasized that it was the mission of each Director to listen carefully and to give thoughtful consideration to the subjects under discussion. She said, “Board Meeting is a time to share ideas and thoughts, to consider plans for activities that we feel will be good for our organization, to decide by vote what shall be done.” President’s Report Mrs. Small reviewed the past year's activi- ties and the closing months of her term as provincial president. Highlights were, Otficers‘ Conference, Awards Banquet at the University Of Guelph, Macdonald Institute Alumnae Sem- inar, District Annuals that she was able to at- tend, Girls’ Conference. Junior Institute Con- vention, Open House at the new offices of the Ontario Department of Agriculture and Food, 4-H Leaders’ Banquet, all 14 area conventions WINTER l969 and the many committee meetings, etc. to plan projects and activities of F.W.I.O. It was also her pleasure to meet Mrs. Aroti Dutt when she arrived at Toronto International Airport prior to the A.C.W.W. conference and to entertain her to tea. Mrs. Small led the Onâ€" tario delegation at the conference in East Lan- sing and attended council meetings before and after the sessions. In closing, Mrs. Small expressed her sincere appreciation to branch members for their loy- alty and Support. to board directors for dedica- tion to the work of the Provincial Board and the many kindnesses extended, and to the ex- ecutive for their excellent co-operation in mak- ing her term an enjoyable three years, Mrs. Small presented reperts of meetings at which she represented F,W.I.O. The Federated Women's Institutes of Canada Mrs. Small reperth visits of F.W.I.C. Presiâ€" dent. Mrs. George Clarke, Newfoundland. to various provincial conventions across Canada. Returning from Western Canada, Mrs. Clarke visited the Adelaide Hoodless Homestead and was guest of honour at a luncheon given by 5
