Mrs. Greene and past presidents of the Federated Women’s Institutes of Canada. Mrs Roylance of British Columbia. Dr. Nancy Adams of Saskatchewan. and Mrs. James Haggerty of Napanee. Ontario. A feature of the evening‘s entertainment was the lighting of the symbolic candles. A large specially made candle representing the first Women‘s Institute was held by Mrs. Rogers. now president of the Women‘s insti- tute at Stoney Creek. From this candle small candles held by a representative from each province were lit. Mrs. Mathcson held a can- dle representing the F.W.I.C. and Mrs. Dutt a candle representing A.C.W.W. Mrs. Phil Andrews of Guelph. Ontario added to the symbolism of the candle lighting ceremony by singing The Hymn of All Nations. Dr. Ethel Chapman completed the evening's entertainment with closing thoughts. Ontario Day So that the delegates might have the oppor- tunity to see something of the Ontario country- side. Wednesday. June 14 was designated as Ontario Day. Buses were provided to take the women for a tour of the Niagara Falls area. The Welland East and Welland West District Women's Institutes served a box lunch in the welcome shade of the large trees in Niagara Falls Park. The Stoney Creek Women's Institute was hostess at a garden party at Battlefield Park. Guests were received by the members of the Stoney Creek Branch dressed in centennial c0sâ€" tume.
