Noted Home Economist and author, Dr. Ethel Chapman was one of five "Centennial Agriculturisls" honored by the Ontario Institute oi Agrologists at their annual meeting held at the University of Guelph recently. A long-time member of the Board of Evangelism and Social Service of the United Church of Canada, Dr. Chapman has made maior contributions to health education, national insurance and the rural church. The Hon. William A. Stewart, Minister of Agriculture and Erlnnd Lee Home Mrs. Russell Wise, RR. 3‘ Puslinch. Chain man of the Committee which has hccn inves- tigating the possibility of preserving the Erlttnd Lee home at Stoney Creek for its historic value, raported that the Historic Sites Board of Ontario had agreed to erect a plaque at the Lee home. This plaque was to huve been erected and unveiled in 1967. Since the death last October of Mr. Frank Lee. a son of Erland Lee. some difficulty has been encounv tered in receiving permission as to the site of this plaque and further progress has l‘cun de» layed. Officers’ Conference Mrs. Gerald Holder. Officers' Conference Secretary. reported that 606 applications had been received for the 19th annual conference.
