Mrs. Bryan adds: "Ayr Women's Institute worked with other local groups in aiding financially with a Nativ- ity Scene. made by a local man. and erected on the main corner in the village. making Christmas more meaningful to all who saw it. The Ayr Library Board was helped finan- cially by the Ayr Women’s Institute when they gave 5200 to help toward a new furnace. Also money was given to the Parentâ€"Teacher group to help with the public-speaking contest for Ayr Public School. The Institute contrib- uted $500 to the Ayr Community Centre and one of the highlights of the year is the In- stitute meeting in conjunction with the Ayr Horticultural Society. Two members living side by side held a bake sale in one home and a teaâ€"room in the other which proved a fi- nancial success." Discovery W.I.
