At an open meeting, had a demonstration of fire prevention by two members of the city fire department. It was so effective that other branches have since had the same program. After a few minutes to think about it each member was called on for a short talk on hot topic. A general discussion foI~ lowed. All the members took part and this was voted the most enjoyable program of the year. Eldcr's Mills found a demonstration of the setting of a Christmas buffet mcul especially interesting. Vellorc Junior Institute: “Our members en- joy dcmonstrations which they themselves could begin to do at any time after they have been shown." Community Interests Perhaps the most general plL‘L‘C of com- munity work is sponsoring :t 4H Homemaking Club. A number of Institutes are sponsoring two clubs. South Tarenturus sent two needy children to camp. Prince gave a transistor radio to a boy suffering from muscular dystrophy. East Korah sent a Christmas basket to a family where the father had died and gifts to children who hztd lost their mother. Prince of Wales sends gifts â€" clothing, candy and cash mostly, to a woman of the community who is in a mental hospital, They say "Most of our work 33
