He attended Summary Day with his mother, Mrs. Hudson Byers. Mrs. Geo. Alderdice taught a group of pubâ€" tie and high school boys during the Christmas holidays. They made blocks with their school crest and their name for shirts and book covers. Club members provided a very educational proâ€" gram. 27 ladies gave comments on club ex~ hibits. They presented problems and reported succeSSes and findings. The chief problem was arranging a time for the meetings suitable for everyone, with poor weather and sickness interfering. Some had problems in securing paint and material for block. Because of these difficulties the Summary Day for Hanover was postponed un- til June to allow this group more time to complete the work. At the Summary Day, six Women‘s institute groups presented skits or demonstrations on different phases of block printing. Six other groups presented a story in the form of a song or reading. And some of the women‘s comâ€" ments were: "It has been fun working to- gether.“ "I found block printing relaxing." "Block printing meets a need to create." "[ wouldn‘t miss a Summary Day. We learn so much from what others have done."
