SUMMER 1959 A delightful interlude during the stamping of the First‘ Day Covers was a luncheon held at the Pines and hosted by the town of Stoney Creek. Mayor Watson welcomed the guests and spoke of the great honour and historical significance of the event to Stoney Creek. Mrs. Hugh Summers. World Vice-President of A.C.W.W. brought greet- ings from the international organization saying she was very grateful to the F_W.I.C. for bringing the project to so successful a contlusion. The name of Sloney Creek will go to all the corners of the world to remind people that it was at Stoney Creek where the first Women‘s Institute meeting was held. She expressed appreciation to F.W.I.C.. F.W.I.O., the women of Stoney Creek and the postal authoriâ€" ties for the splendid job done. Mr. H. Rim‘e. Dis- trict Postal Director. was also a guest and spoke briefly. Mrs. Angus B. .luckman. was the Mistress of Ceremonies. The cancellation on the stamp on First Day Cover is “Stoney Creek. Ont.
